Out, beyond my window
To the north I look
Beyond the rolling hills
Beyond the winter trees.
Beyond the houses, miles
and streams
Through another window yet
and there
My love sits at her work
Her soft hair shining ‘round her face
Eyes bright with life and love
Lips I would give a world to kiss
And kiss and kiss and kiss…
Clothes made for comfort
and no more
She wears loose and all below
Where summers warmth resides
With scents that summers garden throws
I would nuzzle, kiss and know
Ah how I’d love to hear her voice
Sultry, quickening my pulse
Or morning bright with promise
With hope and cheer and love
Through latticed doors I peer
and see her comfort and her cats
Curling ‘round her legs and
Walking on her work
Bringing love and interruptions
Like angels never far
There are blessings all around her,
She herself is one,
And coming through the window;
Love shining like the sun.
